EBAY HAUL!

When I get in the mood to dip my toes into the high-end side of the beauty pool, I turn to eBay. It’s a great place to find bargains on high end makeup, especially travel sizes for the weary consumer – “do I really need to spend all that money in Sephora? What if I HATE it?”.

Or maybe you’re like me – I get ‘buyer’s remorse’ like crazy, because while I purchase things to review, I also know that the money could have gone to far more important things – so I get on eBay and see if I can catch a deal! So below I’ll get into some of the things I’ve gotten recently, and what I think of them!

Let’s get started!

VINCENT LONGO LIP & CHEEK GEL STAINS

I actually have a full review on these coming up in the next few days – but to paraphrase (which will be hard!) I haven’t been able to stop wearing these since I got them! They retail for $24 each at vincentlongo.com, but I got three of them for $12.99 + free shipping, and a separate one for about $5, also free shipping. They’re a super long wearing, sheer but buildable, water based gel stain that can be used, you guessed it, on both the lips and the cheeks. I’m not super impressed with using them on the cheeks, but on the lips, they’re incredible!

NARS LIP GLOSS IN DOLCE VITA

I picked this up because I had seen all over the place that this was a dupe for the L’Oreal Color Riche Le Gloss in the shade Really Rose. I will say that the formulas are totally different, but the color is pretty much spot on! The NARS lip glosses retail for $26, but I actually won a bid on this for $14.50! If you ask me, that’s quite a deal! When they shipped it however, they sent me a completely different item – a Philosophy Lip Shine in Pink Frosted Animal Cracker – nice and all, but not what I ordered. So upon contacting them, they sent the NARS out right away, and told me to keep the mis-shipped item as an apology – WINNING!

MORPHE M438 POINTED CONTOUR BRUSH

This has been a Jaclyn Hill favorite in the past, used to set the under eye area as well as the t-zone, but when I went looking for it on the Morphe website, it was sold out. On eBay, I found for $9.99. I’m not sure of the regular retail price (it’s not listed on out-of-stock items) but that’s alright – I have a similar brush (the e.l.f. Small Tapered Brush) but it’s a little on the stiff side when it comes to setting my under eyes. This brush is perfect. Super soft, and picks up and distributes just the right amount of product!

NARS ITA KABUKI CONTOUR BRUSH

I’ve actually looked for this before, and then it sort of fluttered out of my mind. I had (yes had) the e.l.f. Studio Contouring Brush, but I think when I washed it I may have gotten water in the ferule, because it started to shed horribly. The NARS Ita brush retails for $55 at Sephora, and I got mine (yes it’s authentic and full size) for about $14 with shipping! WHAT?! Yup!

BECCA SHIMMERING SKIN PERFECTOR PRESSED IN MOONSTONE

I was in ULTA the other day, and wandered on over to the high end side – the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfectors caught my eye. So I swatched it – OH…MY…GOODNESS….now I see what all the hype is about!! You guys, I can honestly say that I’ve never felt any powder product feel so creamy and buttery in my life! But $38 is a bit steep for a highlighter, at least for me! But I found a full sized one on eBay for $27!! It’s incredible, and by far my new fave!

GERARD COSMETICS LIPSTICK IN 1995

I was so in love with the ‘Color Your Smile Lighted Lip Gloss’ I bought over the summer, so I wanted to try a different lippie. But GC products are crazy pigmented (don’t get me wrong, that’s a great thing!) and I knew I didn’t want to spend money on something that wasn’t wearable for every day. After watching the Kylie Jenner makeup tutorial by Jaclyn Hill (also the creator of this shade of lipstick) I fell head over heels for this product. I found this on eBay for right around $10, and I absolutely love it – it’s matte but not uncomfortable, it looks like my lips but better, and it wears SOOOO long! ❤

It wasn’t a grand haul buy any means, but if you consider the retail prices on everything, and what I actually paid, that’s pretty incredible!
